This film is the most Wes Anderson thing I’ve seen. It was almost like Wes was figuring out how to out-Wes himself. And it worked!
This was the most fun I’ve had watching a film, I think. The stories within the story were so vivid, so beautiful, so fun…at times, I forgot that I was experiencing just a slice of the cake. A brilliant cast! Brilliant performances! The illustrations in this film were mind-blowing (Javi Aznarez…oh how I love you so)! I hope Wes incorporates more illustrations in his future films.
Hands down, this film was so pretty, so funny, and quite possibly, the most Wes Anderson thing to ever exist (it is more Wes Anderson than Wes Anderson himself). Bravo.
